• A single point of contact for the whole project, from the first visit to handover
• Every trade in-house — masonry, roofing, floors, interiors and outdoor works — with one schedule and one contract
• Regular reports at every stage, so that you always know where things stand
• Payment in stages as the works progress, set out line by line in the quotation

French building terms, explained

• Devis — the written quotation. Once signed, it becomes the contract: read it line by line, and ask about anything that is unclear.
• Garantie décennale — the compulsory ten-year insurance covering structural defects. Any builder should be able to show you the certificate; ours is with Millenium, policy no. 150901531JA.
• Déclaration préalable and permis de construire — the two forms of planning application. Depending on the project, one or the other may be required; we prepare the file with you.
• Reduced VAT — improvement works to a home completed more than two years ago are generally invoiced at a reduced rate, applied directly on the quotation.
