One project, one point of contact, several trades. We start by listening to you, and we take your requests into account at every stage.
Before we price anything
We start by looking for what can be avoided. From the first visit, we look at the project as a whole, to propose the most suitable solutions and, at the same time, to find what does not need doing: keeping what already exists where possible, adapting a method, proposing another material. We then carry out what is necessary, the right way, at the right cost.
The six areas in detail
This page exists for a simple reason: so that you can check before you call. If what you are looking for is not listed, tell us — there is a good chance we can do it.
- 1. General masonry and structural work — what holds the house up. It is where the firm began, and where most of our work is done. Foundations; slabs and paved floors; walls and low walls; openings; underpinning of foundations by concrete blocking or by reinforced-concrete strutting; upper floors; extensions; garages and outbuildings; traditional stone-and-lime masonry; new build; structural repairs. Classic to contemporary, in any style.
- 2. Full renovation, every trade — a whole house taken on from start to finish, without you having to coordinate anyone. Complete or partial renovation of houses, mas and old farm buildings; new layouts; partitions; floor finishes; wall tiling; decorating; façades; finishing work. This is where it matters most: every trade is under one roof, coordinated by EG3.
- 3. Period property and traditional renovation — an old wall is not repaired like a new one. The wrong material or the wrong method, used in good faith, does not cure the problem. Stone walls; lime masonry; traditional renders; repairing cracks; restoring façades; surrounds and dressed stone; traditional beamed ceilings; vaults and arches. These techniques are not a separate trade: we use them on most of our jobs, from a retaining wall to a chimney. And above all, we adapt to the constraints found as the work proceeds — on an old building, there are always some.
- 4. Outdoor works — what surrounds the house counts as much as the house, and it is often what you see first. Terraces and paving; walls and low walls; outdoor steps; courtyards and access; fences; gates; masonry structures; drained paths and driveways; ornamental pools. Ornamental pools are an uncommon speciality: design and construction, waterproofing and masonry surrounds.
- 5. Design and project support — a successful job begins long before the works, and your project begins at our first visit. Recording of defects; technical and geological studies; advice and recommendations; costing; organisation of the works; coordination of the trades; project management; and acting for you as the person who commissions the work (assistance à maîtrise d'ouvrage). Structural calculations are entrusted to partner engineers: that is their profession, not ours. More on Design and project management.
- 6. Gardens and landscaping — with L'Espace Vert d'Alexandre, the third entity of the group, our work carries on beyond the building.
